Flowers at the Chicago Botanic Garden

We spent a Saturday afternoon at the garden. Everywhere I turned I found something to photograph.
In the past, we have gone earlier in the day and on the weekend this can get crowded. This was the first time we went in the afternoon and the crowds were much more manageable.
The kids seemed to really enjoy themselves.
The many different fountains were their favorite.

In the Midwest the industrial and agricultural bump up against each other. This is a natural gas fueled power generation station. While cleaner than coal, this is less clean than wind. When I drive through the wind swept corn fields of Illinois I wonder why wind turbines aren’t dotting the land.
